The Department of Physics, Physical Sciences, and Geology offers undergraduate curricula leading to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology. A minor in Geology and courses for students seeking a teaching credential in the sciences also are offered. The Bachelor of Science program consists of required courses plus electives to meet the needs of students who are preparing for employment in geology and for admission to graduate study in geology. Most of the department's courses take advantage of the close proximity of CSU, Stanislaus to the varied and often spectacular geology of the Sierras and coast ranges.
